Ingredients
Salisbury Steak Patties:
1lblean ground beef
1/2canblack beans, rinsed and drained
1/2cupgluten-free oatmeal
2tspketchup
1tspmustard
1tspWorcestershire sauce
1/2tspgarlic powder
1/2tsponion powder
1Tbspextra-virgin olive oil(reserved for cooking)
Gravy:
2packetsgluten-free brown gravy mixI use Simply Organic brand
2cupshot water
1tspketchup
1/2tspWorcestershire
Instructions
To make the patties:
Combine all patty ingredients (except for olive oil) in a large bowl, using your hands to mix until well-incorporated.
Form and shape into 6 equal patties and set aside.
Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet.
Cook patties in the oiled skillet on both sides until no longer pink, then reduce temperature to low.
To make the gravy:
Whisk gravy ingredients together, then pour over patties in the skillet.
Cook patties and gravy over low until gravy is thick and internal temperate of patties reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Note: Cooking this dish low and slow will result in the most decadent salisbury steaks!
Serve over creamy risotto, wild rice, or mashed potatoes.
