Insurance Policies

Our practice does not file insurance claims and is out-of-network for all insurance carriers; however, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company.

  • All services are privately paid before services are rendered
  • No hidden fees, surprise bills, or additional expenses
  • Personalized care tailored to you and the support you need
  • Greater dietitian availability and fewer limitations to your care
  • Poor in-state contracts for dietitians and coverage for disordered eating care
  • Additional admin time for billing, claims, and appeals that take away from client care and may create unexpected bills
  • Limitations on session frequency, duration, and between-session support services such as emails, chat, food record review, restaurant and grocery outings, and short phone calls.
  • We understand the value of insurance and the need to reduce financial burden. Our practice is happy to assist you in the reimbursement process or to find an in-network provider. After services are rendered, we can provide a Superbill (insurance receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company to attempt reimursement.

What you can do:

(for MS residents)

Talk with your insurance provider

Ask about your specific policy’s coverage and benefits for: nutrition services, medical nutrition therapy, and preventative services. You may also ask for benefit coverage for a specific diagnosis if you have it. The code we can assign is Z71.3.

Optional:
Get a
referral

Ask for a referral from your physician or mental health provider if you can. This may help with your reimbursement, and it will provide helpful codes for us to use on your Superbill (services receipt).

Have a Health Savings Account?

If you have money in a health savings account (HSA) and an expense card, you may be able to use this for your payment. Some policies allow payments for preventative services and/or nutrition programs.
Inquire with your insurance company about your HSA benefits.

Ask
about exceptions

Ask about a gap exemption or out-of-network services considered at the in-network level due to limited providers in the area who specialize in disordered eating.
