about and philosophy (It’s different here!)

Stop wasting your time and money on bandaid “fixes” that only create more problems.

You deserve to get to the roots of your eating habits and no longer feel out of control with food

When you feel guilty after eating, feel too busy to eat, or just want to finally feel normal with food, you don’t need generic nutrition tips or a meal plan that’s impossible to follow forever. You need to know your body.

Here, you’ll be met with compassion as you work to uncover the roots to your eating patterns and food choices. You’re not broken, and you aren’t a project to be fixed. This is a safe space to heal your relationship with food so you can get unstuck and move on with your life.

The loving truth:

You don’t need more discipline or willpower.

Discipline has gotten you far in life and far away from your body.

You’re trying so hard…so why isn’t it working?

Whether you perform in the board room, in the classroom, or on the field, you’re putting in Olympic-sized effort to your eating and gettinglittle league results

You’re reading labels, tracking diligently, and following the meal plan of your favorite influencer.

But you white-knuckle your way through the day and crash out by dinner. You can’t stay focused, your emotions feel like a roller coaster, and your energy has officially left the chat.

Here’s what’s happening

You think your eating is good, but your body is registering it as “bad.”

When you have to try this hard and willpower your way through it, eating feels unsafe to your body. This sends your nervous system into overdrive and activates your built-in survival mode. (Hello anxiety and thinking about food all the time!)

While this is your body’s way of protecting itself, it acts against everything you’re trying so hard to do, so you think you have to start over and use more discipline to get results. As your effort increases, you feel out of control with food even more.

It makes sense why you think this way…and it’s fueling the cycle and making everything worse.

How I know

As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who’s corrected this cycle for over 15 years and has healed this cycle within myself, I get it.

My experience has taught me the science and psychology behind your eating patterns. I know why you eat what you do and why you feel this way. In addition, I also know how trauma, stress, and diet culture takes you away from your body and makes food feel so complicated.

And I know how to help you.

Find joy and peace again with food and your body

I see you

Hi, I’m Alyssa

And I get it. You’re a master at conquering your to-do list and the one everyone can trust. You’re reliable, rationale, and responsible. Everyone wonders how you do it all.

Except, you feel yourself burning out and you’re barely keeping everything afloat. You’re numb to the life you’ve worked hard to build, and when I ask you what you do for fun…you go blank.

It doesn’t have to be this way. You don’t have to ignore your body to survive. You can get everything done and take care of yourself in the process. And you can no longer feel out of control with food.

As someone who’s learned how, I’d love to help you do the same.

Our approach

Coast Nutrition Co. believes in

Behaviors

The way you eat and how you think about food is more important than what goes in your mouth. We focus on health behaviors and actions that lead to better health and a happier body instead of the scale or calories.

Evidence

No fad diets here! We use evidence-based nutrition recommendations and counseling/coaching frameworks to help you apply nutrition science and behavior changes that actually work long-term.

Collaboration

You’re the expert of your body. You know what feels good and what doesn’t, what you like and dislike, and what really matters most in your life. We’re here to help you uncover that with a collaborative process instead of “just telling you what to do.”
